Dating back to 1750's Russia, this apple is reknown for it's hardiness. The apple is medium to large; color pale yellow covered with splashes and stripes of pinkish red. Duchess of Oldenburg flesh is yellow, firm, crisp and juicy. A highly aromatic apple, with excellent culinary qualities. Duchess of Oldenburg apples are one of the best pie apples for coldest climates. Scab resistant.
